I guess to each their own. Naija christians are still battling their own cultural traditions. Let me not get involved in Amnerican christians and theirs.

I bloged about this yesterday... check it out. 1 Corinthians 10:21 categorically tells us that "You cannot drink from the cup of the Lord and from the cup of demons, too. You cannot eat at the Lord’s Table and at the table of demons, too" Halloween is rooted in evil tradition.. children of God have no business celebrating it or such 'tradtition'.

Myne, I agre Naija have a lot of traditions, but as believers, we should be wiser.. most of them are not based on the word of God. Its all about applying God's wisdom and understanding in everything we do. On judgement day, we cannot say we did not know, cus I envisage God asking the question "what did my word say about it" Father give us wisdom in this last days.. Amen.

Hope u are doing good girl? Have a great weekend. Much Love x

I want to assume that most do not know the history/implication of halloween. Remi's post was so enlightening to say the least.

Then as one grows as a Christian, it will be expected that they are more sensitive to the indwelling spirit who teaches them all things...

would like to say so but...you should google the history behind christmas. gives a new perspective on things. though haloween to me is celebrating evil.

If we get down to the nitty gritty of what halloween really means to pple in this country, it's all about the candy, trick or treating and dressing up in costumes. Pple don't think deeper than that. Same way christmas is all about exchanging gifts and family. Pple don't even bother looking at the origin and significance of these things anymore.

As for me, if i have kids would i celebrate halloween? Yes! I know i'm not worshiping the devil. It's all about the fun of dressing up and going trick or treating. No big deal.

If we want to be so deep about stuff, y do we all celebrate christmas on dec 25th? Was it not originally a pagan holiday?

Anyway, no be this one dey do me right now. I am going to go study.

I agree with Myne...its a tough call. As for me, I don't do Halloween! But I have went to a halloween party in the past...for the dressing up part so i dunno if that's a hypocrite move..

I'm with Remi on this, i've never lived abroad but i believe that one needs to know the reason for celebrating a festival or wareva before having a go at it...it's like me going to dance at an Ogun festival now and saying it's just all about the fun...
The Holy Spirit will always nudge His own people in the right direction!
