African Apprentice

It seems like the makers of Survivor are taking The Apprentice to Africa

So if you are interested, the info is below. It applies to Africans in diaspora also. I think it is also being hosted in Nigeria.

interesting, but out of my league...some of us do our best when locked up alone in a room with a computer and the internet...but if there's another life, i would give it a shot...

It is indeed being shot in Nigeria with Biodun Shobanjo (of Insight Communications) as the CEO and its being sponsored by Bank PHB

The apprentice is real and in Africa. its open to everyone in and from Africa. Bank PHB's in charge of it.
Spread the word so I can vote for someone I know when it starts, even if I'm not a TV person!

errrm.... what is PHB in full again? Anyway, i think it is a great initiative and a great way of enlightening and exposing our youth who usually graduate from Nigerian universities being theoretically smart and not street smart or savvy enough as it applies to the job. In any case, goodstuff. Soooo.... where can i watch it online since i am not in Nigeria?

Not bad. But I also think to myself, yet another American byproduct being rolled out to Naija. Millionaire, Big Brother, Next Top model, etc etc. Where is the local talent? Where are the new innovative shows that we can export to other countries like South Africa has done? Where are the Nigerian sitcoms that used to make us laugh back in the day? New Masquerade, Village Headmaster, Mr B et al. Topical yet funny and innovative shows. Give me that any day over "YOU're FIRED"

@jem: PHB means Platinum Habib Bank, came about from one of those mergers.
@atutupoyoyo: The old sitcoms are being revived. The Nigerian Movie industry dominates Africa Magic, on DSTV with ease. Don't worry, the old funny series might just be aired soon....
@jaycee: You wont really be in Naija, you know. You'd be in luxurious Niaja! It should be like BBA, and participants will be housed. So think about it!
